Ramiro Arnedo Semillas
Ramiro Arnedo S.A. was founded over 75 years ago by the current
President of the company, Mr. Ramiro Arnedo Eguizábal. This business
emerged to supply seeds to farmers in the Valley of the Ebro, due to
their lack and need of quality seeds.

In 1962, the company introduces the system of forced vegetable
crops through the use of agricultural plastic, advocating what is
today a reality in forced crops on the Peninsula and in particular in the
Spanish south-east.
Mr. Ramiro Arnedo Eguizábal became a promoter of horticulture in
our country with the introduction of the first hybrid in Spain in 1963,
which opened a passage for technology, promoting the revolution
of hybrids.

The improvements that this first hybrid cucumber accounted for in
horticulture were totally ground-breaking and allowed what is now
a habit in the use of hybrids.

In 1982 the new company was created, becoming a joint-stock company,
denominated Ramiro Arnedo S.A. and being all the capital owned by
the Arnedo family.
